Acceptable Use Policy
What you may and may not do with synthetic speech generated on SpanishTTS.
Last updated: 2026-09-09
Why this page exists
SpanishTTS turns text into speech that sounds like a person. That is the whole point of the product, and it is also the reason it can be misused. This page sets out where the line is. It applies to everyone using the service, on every plan, including the free one.
Breaking these rules can get your account suspended or closed. We would much rather explain the rules once than enforce them.
Voice and likeness
- Do not present synthetic speech as a real person's actual words. Every voice in our library is a licensed synthetic voice, not a recording of the person it may resemble. Using it to make someone appear to have said something they did not say is prohibited, whether that person is a public figure, a colleague, or a stranger.
- Do not impersonate a real individual, company, government body, or brand in a way intended to mislead.
- If you are producing content where a listener could reasonably mistake synthetic speech for a real recording of a real person, disclose that it is synthetic.
Deception and fraud
Do not use the service to:
- Run phone scams, robocalls, voicemail drops, or any voice-based social engineering.
- Create audio intended to obtain money, credentials, or personal data under false pretences.
- Produce fake news, fabricated statements attributed to real people, or synthetic evidence.
- Manipulate elections, referendums, or public consultations, including audio attributed to candidates or officials.
Illegal and harmful content
Do not generate audio that:
- Violates any law that applies to you or to us.
- Harasses, threatens, defames, or incites violence against any person or group.
- Sexualizes minors in any way. There is no exception to this and no warning before termination.
- Promotes self-harm, or provides instructions for weapons, explosives, or other serious physical harm.
- Infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights — including reading out substantial portions of a work you do not have the right to reproduce.
Rights in the text you submit
You are responsible for having the right to use the text you send us. Do not submit text that you are not permitted to reproduce, or that contains other people's personal or confidential information without a lawful basis.
Platform integrity
Do not:
- Share one account across multiple people or organizations, or resell access to your account.
- Resell or redistribute our output as a general-purpose text-to-speech service competing with ours. Using generated audio inside your own product, video, course, or podcast is exactly what the paid plans are for and is fine.
- Attempt to circumvent character limits, per-request limits, plan restrictions, or rate limits, including by scripting the web interface.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the service, or attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.
- Automate account creation to obtain repeated free allowances.
Commercial use
Commercial use of generated audio is permitted on the Starter, Pro, and Studio plans. Audio generated on the free plan is for personal, non-commercial use only. The Terms of Service set out what rights you hold in the audio.
Enforcement
Depending on severity, we may warn you, restrict features, suspend the account, or terminate it. For anything involving minors, credible threats, or coordinated fraud, we terminate immediately and without notice, and we report to the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
Accounts terminated for violating this policy are not refunded. See the Refund Policy.
We do not routinely monitor the content you submit. We act on reports, on automated abuse signals, and on anything we notice while operating the service.
Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using SpanishTTS against this policy — including audio that impersonates you — email support@spanishtexttospeech.com. Include the audio or a link to it if you can. We investigate every report.
Changes
We may update this policy as new kinds of misuse appear. Material changes will be announced through the service.
